Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a participant 16 years or older. Not recommended for children under the age of 7.
Directors of the Extraordinary is an immersive education and entertainment company, pushing the boundaries of live adventure experiences.
We at Directors of the Extraordinary have been working closely with George Meijer and QUT students to bring this project to life. Experimenting with narrative, in game characters, unique challenges, technology integration and location has pushed their thinking around experience construct.
This is an augmented reality live gaming experience, taking place on location throughout the festival in real time.
Immersive, game based experiences are fast becoming popular forms of entertainment. Just look at Pokémon GO. There is a movement from passive consumption of entertainment to active participation. Using a specific location as inspiration for an immersive experience lends itself to a different interpretation of what this might be.
Collaboration is key! This experience has drawn inspiration from what is already in the marketplace and the experience of those working in this field. There is scope and potential to build a local, creative hub around this market.
