This is the future. Build your very own hologram using simple materials and bring it to life with specially designed Holographic videos. You’ll be amazed at how realistic they look!

The Creators

Ty Curtis

Tyronne Curtis produces film, augmented reality apps and educational programs.

Ty is a broadcast credited, award nominated content creator responsible for building two media focused businesses; The Chaos Factory & Activate Entertainment. He is a published columnist, augmented reality app developer, public presenter and distributive player in the fields of media, tech and education.

As the director of Activate Entertainment, Tyronne is an innovative educator creating and implementing unique filmmaking and augmented reality experiences and programs for the education and business sectors. Since 2012, Activate Entertainment has rolled out revolutionary workshop experiences at libraries, schools and festivals Australia wide. The latest of which was run as a part of the 2015 Ashgrove Literature Festival and experienced by Education Minister, Kate Jones.

Tyronne is also an independent film producer with his last short film being broadcasted on ABC2 and screened at numerous festivals. Recently, Tyronne was nominated for an AEAF award for his corporate animation production, ‘xglim’ and his children’s TV show in development ‘Woof Gang’ was selected to represent Queensland at SPAA 2013 in the Pitch to Pro’s competition.

For Families Magazine, Tyronne is their kids technology expert and columnist where he educates parents about healthy use of technology with young people. Tyronne is constantly on the search for new ways to tell stories and influence others with these tools. He seeks to be on the cusp of technological integration into the arts and education sectors with a particular focus on augmented reality and filmmaking.

The Making Of

What is Build Your Own Holograms?

  • For the first 10 minutes we’ll show off some cool holograms
  • Students are shown how to create their own and given a Stepbystep instruction sheet, including stencil templates
  • Students individually get filmed with a super powereffect
  • We import the video files into the iPads and turn out the lights to see everyone’s holograms in action
  • We assist students in the construction of their hologram device including cutting and taping
